Don Pierre Durant

Born July 23, 1937 in Cook County to Edward and Vera (Stoop) Durant, he married Paula (Schleder) November 16, 1969. She survives.

Also surviving are one son, Vincent (Kathryn) Durant of Fairfield, California; one daughter; Christina (Colin) Minor of Brigham City, Utah; nine grandchildren; Ashley, Brittney and Jake Durant, Scott Anderson, Michelle Briggs, Mary Anderson, Josiah Minor, Joanna Howard, Angela Ferrari; 9 great-grandchildren: two nieces; Trudy (Jeff) Kreiling of Benton, Wisconsin; Deanne (Charlie) Brown of Pekin and one nephew; Keith (Kristen) Friedrich of Green Valley.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son; Joseph Durant and two brothers; Bill and Edward Durant.

Don worked for many years at Keystone Steel & Wire Company in Bartonville.

He enjoyed collecting antiques especially firearms and working on cars. He also enjoyed working out and cycling. Don also spent his time researching various topics in history specifically the old west.

A gathering celebrating the life of Don will be held at a later date. Cremation has been accorded by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
