Don William Burton, Sr.

Born August 25, 1938 in Mt. Home, Arkansas to George and Nellie (Brock) Burton, he married Ramona Ann Apodaca on December 20, 1956 in Mt. Home, Idaho. She died September 15, 2007 in Peoria. He also was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Elizabeth (Finley) Sutton.

Surviving are four sons, Don W. Burton, Jr., David Burton of Peoria, Richard Burton and John Burton, both of Pekin; seven grandchildren, Jake (Kristina) O’Farrell, Samantha Heilman, Kendra (Donny Dickerson) Burton, Seth Burton, Brittany Burton, Michelle Walraven and Anthony Walraven; nine great-grandchildren and one sister, Lois Ann (Buck) Lumbert of Travers City, Michigan.

Don served in the United States Air Force from 1956 to 1962.

He was a machinist at Caterpillar, Inc. for 26 years, retiring in 2000. Don love to bowl and also had a machine shop in his home.

He was of the Baptist faith.

His funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday, October 9, 2020 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Pastor Craig Hislope will officiate. Visitation will be one hour before the funeral. Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin.
