He was born September 1, 1976 in Peoria to Lowell Allen and Delores Jean “Dee” (Patterson) Ely. His parents survive of Pekin.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Nichole Marie “Nikki” Ely on August 4, 2007 in Miami, Florida and also one aunt, Jody Miller.
Don last worked for Continental Carbonics in Pekin. He previously worked for Colson Communications in Pekin for more than 10 years as an installation technician.
He liked riding motorcycles and ATV’s. Don also enjoyed mudding with trucks.
Don always put his friends first and always made those around him smile.
He was of the Catholic faith.
A celebration of life gathering will be held from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday, March 8, 2009 at the Pekin Moose Family Center. Cremation has been accorded. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Donald Ely Memorial Fund in care of the Tazewell County School Employee’s Credit Union, 1470 Valle Vista Blvd., Pekin, IL 61554.
