

Born July 15, 1937 in Peoria to William and Ada (Jenkins) Schultz, he married Louann Logan on September 27, 1958 in Pekin. She died January 18, 1975 in Peoria. He later married Janet E. Sathoff on July 7, 1975 in Pekin. She survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Donald G. (Mary) Schultz, Jr. of Groveland and Leslie E. (Julie) Schultz of Pekin; three daughters, Laurie A. (John) Hill of Pekin, Marjorie K. (Richard) Wagner of Peoria, and Amanda G. (Ray) Cantley of Clanton, Alabama; one step-son, George Michael Diver of Aurora, Colorado; two step-daughters, Carla A. Hopkins and Cathy E. (Richard) Garrison, both of Pekin; ten grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; one sister, Martha Jean (Jim) Simmons of Peoria; and four brothers, Richard (Glenda) Schultz of Bartonville, Alvin (Jeanette) Schultz and James (Virginia) Schultz, both of Peoria, and Kenny (Marie) Schultz of Rossville, Indiana.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one step-son (Jeffrey A. Diver), and five brothers.
Don had worked at Corn Products Company in Pekin for 16 years. He later worked for Pekin Public Schools District #108 as a custodian at McKinley School. He last worked at Vincent's Market in Mountain Brook, Alabama for over 10 years, last working in 2000.
He was a former member and treasurer of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #916 in Pekin. He had attended Hunter Street Baptist Church in Hoover, Alabama.
Don was a fan of the Chicago Cubs, Chicago Bears, and Alabama Crimson Tide Football.
His funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, November 21, 2006at the Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel, where visitation will be one hour before the funeral. The Rev. Gary L. Ford will officiate. Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin.
