

Born December 28, 1940 in Peoria, she was the daughter of Ellis H. and Helen (Dailey) Lee. Her mother died at an early age, and she was raised by Eva M. Lee, who also preceded her in death along with two brothers, Michael Lee and Richard Lee. She married Robert Gene Pool on October 18, 1959 in East Peoria. Together they were blessed with four children.
Surviving are four children, Michelle (Scott) Stalter of Gilson, Barry Pool of Pekin, Gary (Lisa) Pool of Manito and James (Kim) Pool of Manito; six grandchildren, 2nd Lt. Benjamin (Molly) Reed, Stephanie (Ashley) Elias, AJ Pool, Brandi Van Nattan, Austin (Ashlin) Pool and 1st Lt. Sierra Pool; five great-grandchildren and one sister, Linda (Nick) Randitsas of Washington.
Donna’s family was her greatest joy, and she had the highest trust in the Lord. She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Pekin.
She enjoyed crafting, reading, gardening, driving in the mountains while living in Colorado and had a passion for frogs.
She worked as a bookkeeper at Bergner's and MCA Printing Company, retiring in January 2006.
Her funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, September 11, 2025, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Pekin. Visitation will be 9:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Pastor Daniel J. Bishop will officiate. Burial will follow the service at Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin. Arrangements are by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
