

Born February 23, 1934 in Pekin to William and Neva (McCalla) Harvey, she married Richard William "Bunk" Stanton on December 2, 1956 in Pekin. He died December 26, 2000 in Fort Smith. She also was preceded in death by two nephews, David Knapp of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina and Denny Lee Stanton of Pekin.
Surviving are one son, Steven W. (Danielle) Stanton of Fort Smith; two grandchildren, Elyse R. Stanton and Kourtny J. Stanton, both of Fort Smith; one brother, William (Beverly) Harvey of Pekin; one sister, Wilma (Buck) Neville of Tremont and a sister-in-law, Darlene (John) Norton of Atlanta, Georgia. She also leaves two nephews, Robert Stanton and Jay Harvey, both of Pekin and four nieces, Amy Hutchens of Metamora, Julie Berry of Birmingham, Alabama, Nancy Kegel and Laurie Freeland, both of Atlanta, Georgia.
She had attended Western Illinois University in Macomb and was a member of the Sigma Sigma Sigma Sorority.
She worked 38 years for Owens Illinois in executive sales, transferring to Fort Smith in 1980 and retiring in 1990. She later worked as a pharmacy technician at Laws Pharmacy in Fort Smith, last working March 15, 2007.
She was a member of the Dallas Oaks Presbyterian Church in Fort Smith and a former member of the First United Presbyterian Church in Pekin. She was a former board member of the Fianna Hills Home Owners Association.
Donna dearly loved her grandchildren. She also enjoyed reading and gardening.
Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 3, 2007 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel. The Rev. Gary L. Ford will officiate. Visitation will be one hour before the funeral. Cremation will be accorded following the funeral. Burial of the cremated remains will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin at a later date.
