Dorothy I. Hopkins

Born July 1, 1938 in Green Valley to Clarence and Lucille (Wienzierl) Berchtold, she married Frank Hopkins in August of 1958. He died passed March 28, 2001. She was also preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Barbara Hopkins; one brother, Billy Berchtold; and her beloved dog, Dusty.

Surviving are two daughters, LuAnn (Tom) Pierce and Christy (Cecil) Broomfield; one son, William (Carla) Hopkins; two grandchildren, Allen Hopkins, Skyler Broomfield; and her beloved dog, Chico.

Dorothy enjoyed the outdoors, bird watching, singing, and garage sales. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family, and she loved her grandchildren dearly.

Her funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, November 12, 2020 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory Pekin. Captains Megan and Brandon Lewis and Majors Martin and Shannon Thies will officiate. Her visitation will be from 9 to 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin.
