As someone who had been lost in a dark cavern of depression and despair, I greatly appreciate and wish to echo the special appeal that was included at the conclusion of Pete’s funeral. An important moment in my emotional recovery occurred when I listened to Pope Francis counsel a young lady who had endured unspeakable peer cruelty in school regarding a skin condition with which she was afflicted. The Pope encouraged her to go forward with courage and with hope for the future, hastening to add that it was important to do so while holding hands with another person. Pope Francis added clarity to his message by stating that while it is important to feel as if one is holding on to Christ’s hand, he meant that each of us must hold hands with at least one other human being.
Pete’s life was a powerful testimony of what is possible when we keep faith with the truth revealed in the first chapter of the Bible; God created a good world for us and, with patience and faith, we can witness awesome glimpses of the overall trajectory of events bending toward His purposes. It required courage to ask to be allowed to be a grandfather and to fill that role so lovingly and faithfully. Holding on to Ann’s hand was a key in allowing those beautiful surrogate relationships to flourish. Pete and Ann were always good at finding hands that needed to be held.
I, like many others, will miss Pete’s warm loving nature and his joyful sense of humor. To encapsulate a key message sent by the way Pete approached life, I must say that it is truly amazing to consider how we can find meaning in our lives if we continue to trust God and sense when and how we can work collaboratively with God to bring about “His will on Earth as it is in Heaven.”


Annie,so sorry to hear of Pets passing .He was good long time friend and always enjoyed seeing him and hearing his stories.He always enjoyed my antics  as a young girl and he would visit my neighbor hood.He will make a lot of people laugh n heaven.God be with you Annie.

Annie, you are in my thoughts and prayers! The girls and I always loved seeing him talking to him! I always knew he was watching out for the girls and that meant so much to me!

So thankful that the Lord has taken away all suffering and he is at peace with our Savior!

Pete was a great man to work with. He was a funny man he made a lot of people laugh at work
everyday.I  work everyday. I miss him he was a good friend. 

    Let the Lord take your hand and lead you to your place in Heaven.

Very sorry to hear Pete passed .

 I worked with Pete at Caterpillar for many years ,we always had a good time while working .
  Pete was a very good toolmaker and was very well respected by the people he with whom he worked.
 He was always great to talk with . 

 Pete had a heart of gold . We will miss him .

Uncle Pete has always been in my life. He taught me many things and I will miss him greatly.  

Pete was a remarkable man.  He always had a smile on his face and always made you smile with the antics he pulled.  
We loved him at the bus company and I never received a complaint on him from the parents of his "kids".  I wish I had 20 of him to put behind the wheel.
Fly with the angels -- you earned your wings!  

I will miss my friend and neighbor and the many stories of his life he shared with me. We both loved small engine repair and he gave me many projects to work on. Being able to know and help Pete and Ann is a gift I will always cherish. Rest well my friend and tell my dad hello.

My deepest condolences go out to your family. It's very little that can take away from the pain we experience when we lose a loved one, but one thing that helps me find comfort and hopefully helps you too, is the the promises found in the Bible. Such as, Isaiah 25:8 where God promises to soon, "swallow up death forever" and to "wipe away the tears from all faces".
