

Born January 24, 1939 in rural Green Valley to Willard H. and Reeda M. (Weyhrich) Krohn, he married Carol J. Wikoff on November 10, 1967 at St. John’s Lutheran Church (Sand Prairie) in rural Green Valley. She survives.
Also surviving are two sons, John Krohn of Normal and Paul Krohn of Pekin; one daughter, Beth (Mike) Watts of Pekin; two grandchildren, Stephen Watts and Hope Watts, both of Pekin; one sister, Geraldine “Jerry” Shay of Green Valley; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother-in-law, George Shay and one niece, Michelle Diane Skaggs.
Earl had a 57 year career in the floral business. In 1963, he began working for Florence Bruns at Flowers by Florence in Pekin. He had owned and operated Flowers by Florence since 1973.
He was a devoted member of St. John’s Lutheran Church (Sand Prairie) in rural Green Valley. During his lifelong membership, Earl served by holding several positions within his church.
He was a member of Pekin Main Street and Pekin Area Chamber of Commerce and was a strong supporter of Good Shepherd Lutheran School in Pekin. He was a Cub Scout Master for Pack #88 in Pekin for several years.
Earl enjoyed traveling, working in his yard, collecting bird carvings, and watching softball games at the park. He cherished his family especially his grandchildren and enjoyed going to their activities.
His funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 22, 2014 at St. John’sLutheran Church (Sand Prairie) in rural Green Valley. Pastor Kevin Bueltmann, Pastor Chris Sansom, and DCE William Krueger will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin and also from 10 to 10:45 a.m. Saturday at the church. Burial will be at Sand Prairie Cemetery in rural Green Valley.
