Eddie E Wooding

CREVE COEUR ~ Eddie Eugene Wooding, 75, of 524 Roberts St., passed away at 6:15 a.m. Thursday, August 04, 2011 at Methodist Medical Center in Peoria.

Born March 20, 1936 in Spring Lake to James L. and Clara Belle (Golden) Wooding, he married Lora Jo Shonk on June 29, 1956 in Mackinaw.  She survives.

Also surviving are three sons, James (Deana) Wooding of Creve Coeur, Eric (Teresa) Wooding of LaPorte, Indiana and Darren Eugene Wooding of Elk Grove Village; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, one grandson and two great-grandchildren.

A member of Laborer's Local #231 in Pekin, Eddie worked eleven years for Woiwode as a hod carrier.  He later worked in the foundry at Caterpillar, Inc. in East Peoria and Mapleton, retiring in 1994 after 34 years of service.

He was a member of Creve Coeur Christian Church and also of the United Auto Workers Local #974 in East Peoria.

Eddie enjoyed woodworking, gardening and was a jack-of-all-trades.

His funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday, August 8, 2011 at Creve Coeur Christian Church.  Rev. John Plunkett and Eddie's son, Eric Wooding will officiate.  Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Creve Coeur.  Burial will be in Mackinaw Township Cemetery.
