Born April 29, 1954 in Jacksonville to Galen and Marcella (Atkinson) Black, he married Normanda Dringenberg on October 19, 1972 at the First Christian Church in Pekin. She survives.
Also surviving are four children, Edward Black, Jr. of Peoria, Jessica (Shawn) Bouton, Jennifer (Levi) Black and Katherine (Jeff) Black, all of Pekin; seven grandchildren; and one brother, Kim Black of Pekin.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Sharon Folsom and Anna Leveque.
Edward had worked in store maintenance for Schnucks and then Kroger, retiring in 2014.
He enjoyed riding motorcycles and watching old western movies. He had a love for vintage cars and enjoyed collecting scale model versions of his favorites.
A gathering celebrating Edward’s life will be held at a later date. There will be no services at this time and cremation will be accorded.
