

Born March 27, 1919 in Pekin to Alfred F. and Grace A. (Everwein) Dieckman, she married Louis Landi Vittori in 1938. He died in March of 1980. She also was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Randy D. Vittori and one daughter, Carole J. Vittori.
Surviving are four children, Lamonte (Bernadette) Landi Vittori of Morton, Valerie Landi Vittori of Peoria, Cheri (Ed) Burrell of Pekin and Dave (Amy) Landi Vittori of North Pekin; eight grandchildren, Lisa Prather, Autumn Landi Vittori, Desiree Rodcay, Bradley Burrell, Joie Gaa, Sara Schupp, David Landi Vittori, Jr. and Hollie Landi Vittori and eight great-grandchildren.
Elsie was the longtime manager of Leslie Shoe Store in downtown Pekin. She last worked in the post office substation at Szold’s in Peoria. She retired at age 65.
Elsie enjoyed shopping and bird watching. She loved flowers. She also loved pets, especially her faithful companion, Rusty.
She was a member of Second Reformed Church in Pekin. Elsie also was a member of the Disabled American Veterans Ladies Auxiliary.
Her graveside funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday, October 28, 2011 at Lakeside Cemetery. The Rev. Joel Vander Wal will officiate.There will be no visitation. Arrangements are by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
