
Born June 13, 1921 in Pekin to Jacob and Bertha (Keubler) Stockert, he married Frances Joan Bell on October 7, 1953 in Lincoln. She survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Cheryl (Paul) Groeper of Glendale, Arizona and Debbie Brod of Pekin; one son, Roger Stockert of Pekin; five grandchildren, Nicholas Brod of Peoria, Darren Brod of Pekin, DeAnna Dalliare of Peoria, Arizona, Dr. Darcie Groeper of Mesa, Arizona, and Sean Groeper of Chicago; five great-grandchildren; and one sister, Betty Hancock of Oglesby.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Johanna Koch; and three brothers, George Stockert, Paul Stockert, and Jake Stockert.
He was a United States Army veteran of World War II.
Emil worked for CILCO for 27 ½ years, retiring in 1982 as a pipefitter. Previously, he worked at Pabst Brewery in Peoria Heights.
He was a former member of Saint Paul United Church of Christ in Pekin.
Emil enjoyed camping and fishing, and was a Chicago White Sox baseball fan. With Emil, family always came first.
Private graveside services will be Wednesday at Lakeview Cemetery in Pekin. The Rev. Dwight Borden will officiate.
