Evelyn V Long

Born February 27, 1912 in Merrill, Wisconsin to Felix Peter and Catherine (Petruske) Marion, she married Charles R. Long on December 5, 1931 in Peoria. He died August 18, 1982 in Peoria. She also was preceded in death by her parents; one great-grandson; four brothers and one sister.

Surviving are two daughters, Lois Buchanan of Pekin and Marilyn Kearney of Lake Helen, Florida; six grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; ten great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Rose (Roger) Belk of Pekin and one brother, Leo (Mary) Marion of East Peoria.

Evelyn worked in the bottling department of the American Distilling Company in Pekin for 28 years, retiring in 1974.

She was a member of Emmanuel Community Church in Pekin. Evelyn enjoyed crocheting and had made over 500 baby caps for Pekin Hospital.

Her funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, May 18, 2006at Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel. The Rev. Walter Greenleaf will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 17, 2006at the funeral home. Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin.
