F. Jean Heberer

PEKIN ~ F. Jean Heberer, 85, of Pekin, passed away at 11:56 a.m. Thursday, May 12, 2022 at her home. Born July 17, 1936 in Hickman, Kentucky to Harry O. and Ruby May (Ellis) Glidewell, she married Richard John Heberer on September 4, 1959 in Streator. He died November 24, 2016. She also was preceded in death by her parents; one infant daughter, Sherri Ann Heberer on December 30, 1962 and one brother, Jess Glidewell. Surviving are two sons, R. Keith Heberer of Normal and Scott (Debbie) Heberer of Pekin; one daughter, Renee (Phil) Schertz of Lowpoint; nine grandchildren, Logan Schertz of Lacon, James Schertz, Jacob Schertz, Nick Schertz, all of Lowpoint, Benjamin Heberer, Sydney Heberer, both of Normal, Jade Heberer of Chicago, Brittany (Daniel) Rothweiler of St. Louis and Raina Heberer of Pekin; one sister, Susie (David) Stiles of Mapleton and one brother, Rev. Bill (Treva) Glidewell of Melbourne, Florida. She also leaves her sister-in-law and best friend forever, Rosemary Glidewell of Pekin and her “other” daughter, Laurie Rotramel of Pekin. Jean worked for Pekin Community High School District 303 in the cafeteria for 8 years, last working in 1978. She previously had also worked for Hiram Walker in Peoria as a bottle filler on the assembly line for 10 years. She was a member of Pekin First Church of the Nazarene and led music for 30 years at Pekin First Church of God, where she formerly attended. Jean loved music and spending time with her family. She also enjoyed crocheting and working crossword puzzles. She especially loved her cat, Cookie, too. Her funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 17, 2022 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Pastor H. Gerald Rudd, Pastor W. Lloyd Brock and Pastor Brian Eatock will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery in Pekin.
