

Born March 5, 1932 in Hickman, Kentucky to James Finnis and Annie Williams Morris, he married Dorothy Denny Smith on February 1, 1958 in Pekin.
He was preceded in death by his wife on November 28, 2006 in Peoria; 4 brothers; and 1 sister.
Surviving are 3 daughters, Brenda J. Crawford of Springfield, Melody D. (Gary) Montgomery of South Pekin, and Melinda J. (Robert) Seeley of Hopewell; 1 son, Martin S. (Dolly) Morris of Pekin; 6 grandchildren; 2 great-grandsons; 2 brothers, Bobbie E. (Betty) Morris and James G. (Judy) Morris, both of Pekin; and 1 sister, Helen Jordan of Murfreesboro, Tennessee.
Floyd worked for Caterpillar, Inc. for over 28 years, retiring as a power trucker at the East Peoria plant on April 1, 1992.
He served in Korea with the U.S. Army and was a member of UAW Local 974.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gospel music, Chicago Cubs baseball, and spending time with his family.
He was also a member of the Fellowship Community Church in South Pekin.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m., Friday, April 20, 2007at Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin chapel. Rev. Dowice Ashley will officiate. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the funeral. Private burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery in Pekin.
