Born July 14, 1941 in Peoria to Benjamin and Edwardeen (Stoker) Stuart, he married Donna Lomelino on November 21, 1962 in Springfield.
He was preceded in death by his wife on November 1, 2006; his parents; and 1 sister, Carol Sturgeon.
Surviving are 1 daughter, Melinda (Tracy) Ball of Pekin; 2 grandchildren, Cody Litz and Johannah Pryor, both of Pekin.
George worked for CILCO for 35 years, retiring from energy control in 1996.
He served in the U.S. Navy from 1959 to 1962.
An avid golfer and boater George was a member of the Pekin Boat Club and he loved the Illinois River. He was also a member of the Pekin Moose Family Center #916, and was an avid fan of Illini Basketball and the Chicago Bears.
Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m., Friday at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
Immediately following the visitation, there will be a Celebration of Life Gathering at the Pekin Boat Club.
