

Born, November 3, 1923 in Pekin to William and Clara (McFarland) Wilson, he married Leta P. Woll on June 23, 1945 in Pekin. She preceded him in death on February 17, 1993 in Peoria. He was also preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and one sister.
Surviving are one son, Billie (Sandra) Wilson of Pekin; one daughter, Linda (Norman) Tanner of Pekin; three granddaughters, Kristine (Scott) Montgomery of Manito, Teri (Darin) Crafton of Charlotte, NC, and Steffi Tanner of Pekin, and one grandson, Brian Tanner of Pekin. He is also survived by three great-grandchildren; Megan Martin, Alex Crafton, and Ty Crafton.
Gnile worked for Altorfer Brothers in Peoria. He then worked for American Distillery, which later became Midwest Grain, for over twenty-five years, retiring in 1987.
Gnile was an outdoorsman and loved to hunt and fish. He also loved playing euchre and watching the St. Louis Cardinals beat the Chicago Cubs.
His graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, February 9, 2010 at Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin. The Rev. Gary Ford will officiate. There will be no visitation. Arrangements have been entrusted to Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel.
