Grace F Taylor

Born November 15, 1916 in Manila, Philippines to John William and Grace (Black) Ferrier, she married Dwain F. "Don" Taylor on March 15, 1958 in Northbrook. He died February 7, 1995 in Peoria. She was also preceded in death by her parents, one step-son (Lawrence Taylor), two brothers (John W. Ferrier, Jr. and Frederick I. Ferrier), and one sister (Margaret Ferrier).

Surviving are many nieces and nephews including Barbara (Patrick) Lamberson of Pekin, John Ferrier, IV of Los Angeles, California, Frederick Ferrier, Jr. of Canoga Park, California, and Kimberly Ferrier of Chicago; 1 brother-in-law, Robert (Carolyn) Huls of Pekin; 2 sisters-in-law, Shirley McGrath of Peoria and Sandy Ahlers of Tucson, Arizona; 2 step-grandchildren; and 2 step-great-great-grandchildren.

She was a 1943 graduate of the University of Southern California with a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration.

Grace worked as a secretary at Mystic Tape in Northfield for 7 years, last working in 1981.

She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Pekin, and its United Methodist Women and Rachel-Sarah Circle. She also was a member of the Kappa Delta Sorority.

Her memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Friday, December12, 2008at Grace United Methodist Church in Pekin. The Rev. Gary L. Ford will officiate. Private burial will be in Green Valley Cemetery in Green Valley.
