Harold E Ramsey

He was born November 14, 1949 in Pekin to Harold and Bessie (Fahnders) Ramsey.

Surviving are his parents of Pekin; two brothers, Danny (Sharon) Ramsey of Pekin and Kenneth Ramsey of East Peoria; two sisters, Sheila (Gary) Schumm and Cindy Counterman, both of Pekin and several nieces and nephews.

Harold had served in the United States Army during the Viet Nam era.

He had been a member of the William Schaefer American Legion Post 44, Pekin Eagles Aerie #1869, and the George Maple Memorial AMVETS Post #235, all of Pekin.

Harold had worked for Royal Publishing in Peoria for 20 years, last working in 2005.

An avid reader, Harold also enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and Sudokus. He also enjoyed following sports.

His graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, January 5, 2013 at War Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Pekin. Pastor David Sexton will officiate. There will be no visitation. Military rites will be conducted by the Tazewell Area Ceremonial Team and the Military Funeral Honors team. Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin is assisting the family with arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Good Shepherd Lutheran School, 3201 Court St., Pekin, IL 61554.
