

Born on December 9, 1951, in Pekin, a son of Robert and Jouetta (Kite) Kearney.
He was a bartender at Kinder’s, Otmars, Ol’Dads and Brownies for many years. Jimmy also was an independent landscaper and yard worker. He enjoyed helping anyone with their outdoor projects.
Jimmy was a member of the AF & AM Empire Lodge Number 126. He enjoyed fishing, being outdoors and solving puzzles.
He is survived by two daughters, Michelle (Jamie Shipp) Kearney of Harrisburg and Rhonda (Jason) Henderson of Pekin; one son, Mike (Shae Berry) Kearney of North Pekin; grandchildren, Ethan Kearney-Gann, Hailey Stamps, Hunter Stamps, Holden Kearney, Dustin Henderson, Ashlee (Dennis) Spradley, Jason (Lindsey) Huston, Robbie Kearney and Tyler Kearney; 15 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Danny Joe (Rita) Kearney of Bryant, Robbie Kearney and David Kearney, both of Pekin and two sisters, Crystal Rife and Melody Kearney, both of Pekin.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents; the love of his life for 55 years Tressa Kearney, one grandson, Michael Anthony “Mak” Kearney; one great-grandson, Dawson Jordan; and one brother, Carl Dean Kearney.
Cremation Rites have been entrusted to Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes and Crematory in Pekin. A celebration of life will be held on a later date. Details will be forthcoming.
