

Born July 26, 1940 in Braddock, Pennsylvania to Harry George and Rosemary (Craven) Seiss, he married Dixie L. Todd on March 27, 1958 in Albany, Georgia.
Surviving is his wife of 63 years, Dixie of Pekin; two daughters, Sherry (David) Redfield of Pekin and Janice (Michael) Davis of North Pekin; two sons, Lynn Seiss of Marquette Heights and Jeffrey (Shannon) Seiss of Pekin; seven grandchildren, Stephanie Bravieri, Kristine (Andrew) Redfield, Brendon Schultz, Wesley (Alexandra) Schultz, Schyler (Brook) Seiss, Morgan (Caleb) Seiss-Booth and David Redfield, II.; eight great-grandchildren and one sister, Corrine (Jim) Byers of Circleville, Ohio.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Harry was a veteran of the United States Air Force.
He had worked at Caterpillar, Inc. in Mossville as a Metallurgist Inspection Supervisor for 38 years, retiring in 2001.
Harry was a lifetime member of the Pekin Archery, where he served as a board officer for many years. He was also a member of the National Rifle Association and Illinois State Rifle Association.
An avid outdoorsman who loved the nature, Harry enjoyed camping, boating, hunting, fishing. He also enjoyed target shooting, traveling, woodworking and later in life spending time with his grandchildren.
His funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Pastor Glyn Knight will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be at Prairie Haven Cemetery in Pekin. Military rites will be provided by the United States Air Force and Tazewell Military Rites Team.
