

Born October 13, 1923 in Heber Springs, Arkansas to Albert and Ruth Babcock Johnson, she married Lloyd A. Turney on July 27, 1946 in Heber Springs.
Surviving are her husband; 2 daughters, Anna (Marvin) Palm of Pekin and Beth Turney of Bloomington; 1 son, James (Linda) Turney of Green Valley; 4 grandchildren, Amanda Turney of Green Valley, Michelle Palm of Pekin, Christopher (Teresa) Palm of Crestview, Florida, and Laura (Alan) Hunt of Scott Air Force Base; 1 great-grandson, Zachary Bussan of Scott Air Force Base; 5 brothers, George (Eva) Johnson of Denard, Arkansas, Dale (Phyllis) Johnson of Greers Ferry, Arkansas, and James (Mildred) Johnson, John (Helen) Johnson, and Bennie (Anna Mae) Johnson, all of Shirley, Arkansas; and 5 sisters, Hazel Parker, Maxine Cullum, Addie Mae Wood, Norma Ruth (Ted) New, and Sue (Dick) Bailey, all of Shirley, Arkansas.
She was preceded in death by 1 brother, Grover Johnson.
A homemaker, she was a devoted member of Liberty Baptist Church in Pekin for over 50 years. She was a member of the ladies Sunday school class and was always helping others.
She enjoyed gardening, quilting and cherished her time with her family.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, October 2, 2006at Liberty Baptist Church in Pekin. The Rev. Dr. Tim Najpaver will officiate. Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, October 1, 2006at Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel. Burial will be in Sand Prairie Cemetery in rural Green Valley.
