

Born June 23, 1925 in Swedeborg, Missouri to Albert and Clara (Elder) Larson, he married Donna George on March 12, 1948 in Swedeborg. She survives.
Also surviving are a foster grandson, Jeremy Boker and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one sister.
He was a World War II Army veteran, serving with Patton's Third Army in the European Theater. He attained the rank of Corporal and was a recipient of the Bronze Star.
Hugh worked for Central Illinois Light Company for 30 years, first as a lineman and retiring as a supervisor in the electric department for the Pekin District. He previously had worked at Caterpillar, Inc.
He loved playing cards, was an avid bowler and a fan of the St. Louis Cardinals. He also loved flower and vegetable gardening.
He was a devoted member of First United Methodist Church in Pekin. He also was a member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks Lodge 1271 in Pekin.
His funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 5, 2007at Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel. The Rev. Judy Doyle will officiate. Visitation will be from 1 to 1:45 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Cremation will be accorded following the funeral. Burial of his cremated remains, with military rites, will be in St. John's Swede Cemetery near Richland, Missouri at a later date.
