I. Dorene Woodworth

PEKIN ~ Imah Dorene Woodworth, 91, of 312 Winter Street, passed away at 11:40 p.m. Saturday, November 20, 2010 at Pekin Hospital.Born May 29, 1919 in Beardstown to James Earl and Ada Marie (Suddeth) Smith, she married E. Eugene Woodworth on January 29, 1949 in Peoria. He died October 5, 1990 in Pekin. She also was preceded in death by her parents; two daughters, Inez Redding and Margaret Goss; a son-in-law, Kennth Goss; four sisters, Veda Stark, Zeda Perrilles, Inez Morgan and Marcella Bowman and one brother, Louis Smith.Surviving are one daughter, Judith Thomas of Pekin; seven grandchildren, Frank (Theresa) Goss, Jody (Richard) Yerly, Renee (Kendall) Downey, Doug (Holli) Goss, all of Pekin, Larry (Angie) Thomas, Jr. of Mobile, Alabama, Veda (Andy) Dowell of Green Valley and Becky Wood of Manito; Twenty-great-grandchildren; twenty great-great-grandchildren; four sisters, Betty Lemon of Pekin, Rosalie Wubker of Virginia, Joan Staake of Arenzville and Deloris Walters of Peoria and three brothers, Richard Smith, James Smith and Tom Smith, all of Pekin. She also leaves a son-in-law, Larry Redding of Pekin and a sister-in-law, Phyllis Smith of Peoria.A homemaker, Dorene worked prior to her marriage for the Wells-Lamont Glove Factory in Beardstown and for Stuber & Kuck Co. in Peoria.She was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 1869 Ladies Auxiliary in Pekin.Dorene enjoyed fishing, hunting and camping. Her interests also included sewing and crocheting.She loved to have fun, especially at the family's gathering spot, the little house in Versailles. Her funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, November 24, 2010 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Pastor Nathan Best of Valley Chapel will officiate. Visitation will be one hour before the funeral. Burial will be in Maple Ridge Cemetery in Mapleton.Memorial contributions may be made to Susan G.
