
She was born July 4, 1929 in Pekin to Fred and Flora Alma (Gosnell) Bailey. Her parents preceded her in death.
Surviving are one brother, Fred (Leta) Bailey of Manito; one sister, Shirley (Sandy) May of Pekin; two nieces, Diana (Scott) Plotner of Pekin and Lauri (Tom) England of Bartonville; two nephews, Richard (Nancy) Bailey and Scott (Irma) May, both of Pekin; one great-niece, Erica May of Pekin; and three great-nephews, Joshua May, Matthew Plotner, and Jeffrey Plotner, all of Pekin. She also leaves behind her adopted family of her best friend, JoAnn Petitt, who passed away in 1990.
Imogene worked for Neu Optical in Pekin for 21 years, retiring in 1987.
She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Pekin. She was an avid reader.
Her funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 26, 2009at the Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin chapel, where visitation will be one hour before the funeral. The Rev. Lloyd Brock will officiate. Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin.
