

CREVE COEUR ~ Edna Isabelle Thomas Thorp, 88, of 2501 Allentown Road in Pekin, passed away at 1:40 a.m. Friday, November 25, 2005 at Hallmark House Nursing Center in Pekin. She was formerly of 308 Ehrett Street in Creve Coeur.
Born February 16, 1917 near Patoka to William Ross and Olive (Brumfield) Herring, she married Harold A. Thomas on November 25, 1932. He died February 8, 1968. She later married Dale Thorp who is deceased. She also was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
Surviving are one daughter, Betty T. (Richard) Stumpf of Pekin; one son, Larry (Kathryn) Thomas of Sun City Center, Florida; six granddaughters, Diana (Lou) Shelton, Susanne Stumpf, Lynne (Pat) O'Neal, all of Pekin, Robin (Bruce) Everett of Spring Bay, Laurel Beth (Lance) Urven of Fon Du Lac, Wis. and Victoria (Duane) Helmuth of Sun City Center and fourteen great-grandchildren. Surviving also is a very special sister-in-law, Mildred Herring of Dunlap and several nieces and nephews.
She was devoted to her family and her little dog, Misty. She enjoyed cooking, crocheting and her Secret Pals Club.
She was a longtime member of Creve Coeur Christian Church, where she helped many years playing the piano and helping in the Sunday school.
Her funeral will be at 2:30 p.m. Monday at Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel, where visitation will be one hour before. Rev. Gabriel G. Salazar will officiate. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery in Pekin.
