

Born October 20, 1932 in Pekin to John Earl and Corinne (Price) Ivey, he married Patricia Jane LaCock on March 8, 1958 in Pekin. She survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Gail Lynn (Jerry) Scachette of Peoria Heights and Kathy Sue Honnold of Plano, Texas; one grandson, Noah Ray (Jennifer) Cherry of Peoria; one great-grandson, Logan Alexander Cherry; one step-great-granddaughter, Cassandra Lynn Horton and one brother, Galen (Bernadine) Ivey of Morton.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Michael Eugene Ivey on December 31, 1962; two brothers and two step-brothers.
He was a Korean War Navy veteran.
Jack worked for Keystone Steel and Wire Company in Bartonville as a wire mill auto mechanic for 40 years, retiring January 1, 1994. He also worked for First Federal Savings and Loan in Pekin in Maintenance for 30 years.
He was a member of First Assembly of God in Pekin, where he served as an usher and counter.
He was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather. He loved the Lord and was a very giving person. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a die-hard Cubs fan.
His funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday, February 13, 2009at First Assembly of God in Pekin. The Rev. David Carrington and Chaplain Dwight Winnett will officiate. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, February 12, 2009at Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel. Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin, with military rites accorded by the United States Navy and Tazewell Area Ceremonial Team.
