Born May 21, 1933 in East Peoria to William and Thelma Marsh, he married Bonnie Grove on July 7, 1986, in Peoria. She survives.
Also surviving are step-sons, Paul Gaddie of Creve Coeur and Richard Gard Gaddie of Creve Coeur; two step-grandchildren, Sara (Ron) Smith of Marquette Heights and Eli Gaddie of Creve Coeur; three step-great-grandchildren Hayden Smith and Logan Smith of Marquette Heights and Remi Gaddie of Creve Coeur.
He was preceded by his parents, three sisters, Marilyn Culler, Billie Schoedel and Donna Moore; and one step-daughter Charlene Gaddie.
Jack was a United States Navy veteran of the Korean War.
He had worked at Keystone Steel & Wire Company in Bartonville for 35 years.
Jack was a fan of the Chicago Cubs and the Chicago Bears. He was a member of the Roy L. King Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1232 for 19 years. He was a wonderful husband, step-father and grandfather. He was helpful and caring to his family.
He was a member of the Creve Coeur Christian Church.
His funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday, August 18, 2023 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Creve Coeur. Pastor Paul Grove will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Friday. Burial will be at Fondulac Township Cemetery in East Peoria. Military rites will be accorded by the United States Navy and Tazewell Military Rites Team.
