Jack Peters

Born April 26, 1934 in Effingham to Hampton Diamond “Pete” and Mary (Kreke) Peters, he married Evelyn L. “Lynn” Consley on June 8, 1996 in Pekin. She survives.

Also surviving are two daughters, Sheila (David Allen) Richardson of Pekin and Angi (Charles) Lawson of Garnavillo, IA; two step-children, Richard (Dee) Justice of Pekin and Stacy (Kyle) White of Pekin; eight grandchildren; five step-grandchildren and one sister, Letha (Gene) Scheerer.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Joe Peters.

Jack was a 1952 graduate of East Peoria Community High School.

He worked for Pekin Manor as the maintenance director, retiring in 2004. He also was the former owner of the Mallard Club in Goofy Ridge.

Jack enjoyed camping and fishing. He was a fan of the Chicago Cubs and never could move away from the television when they were playing. He was a member and past monarch of Abbas Grotto in East Peoria.

He was of the Catholic faith.

His funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 8, 2015 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. The Rev. Judy Doyle will officiate. Visitation will be one hour before the funeral. Private burial will be in Fon du Lac Cemetery in East Peoria.
