

Born November 16, 1926 in Decator County, TN to Grady L. and Willie (Heath) Creasy, he married Mary Sue Wilhite on August 9, 1945 in Corinth, MS. She died August 5, 2013 in Pekin. He also was preceded in death by his parents; one great-grandson, Rayden Brucker and one brother, Raymond Parker Creasy.
Surviving are two daughters, Linda “Kay” (J.C.) Huddleston of West Plains, MO and Carol Ann Ergle of Morton, IL; one son, Anthony (Margie) Creasey of Pekin; six grandchildren, James “Mitch” Huddleston, Gena Brucker, Wendy Salvin, Jennifer Michelle Johnson, Randy A. Creasy and Audrey Curless; fourteen great-grandchildren; two sisters, Alene Hart and Wilma (Larry) Hudson of Reagan, TN; three brothers, Ovid (Margaret) Creasy of Nashville, TN, George (Barbara) Creasy of Olive Branch, MS, and J.W. (Gayle) Creasy of Reagan, TN, and several nieces and nephews.
He worked at Caterpillar Inc., as a weldor, retiring May 1, 1981.
James was a member of Hinkle Baptist Church in Hinkle, TN.
He was also a member of The American Knife Collectors (AKC), UAW #974, and was a past president of the UAW Community Club at the UAW Highrise.
James had been a member of the Empire Lodge #126 Ancient Free & Accepted Masons in Pekin.
His funeral will be at 2 p .m. Saturday, December 14, 2013 at Pafford Funeral Home in Scott Hills, TN, where visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. Burial will be in Corinth Cemetery at Scotts Hill, TN. Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory is assisting the family with local arrangements.
