

He was born February 28, 1954 in Peoria to Jesse and Betty (Meyer) Darr.
Surviving are one brother, Jesse (Christina) Darr of Pekin; two sisters, Anna (Dick) Garman of Pekin and Janell Darr of Manito and several nieces and nephews.
His parents preceded him in death.
He was a United States Army veteran of the Vietnam War.
Jim worked for O’Brien Steel Service in Peoria for 15 years, last working in 2010. He previously worked on the railroad.
He was of the Baptist faith.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting, traveling and camping. Jim also enjoyed attending Rodeos and being outdoors. He was formerly involved in Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts.
His graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 19, 2016 at War Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Pekin, with military rites accorded by the United States Army and the Tazewell Area Ceremonial Team. The Rev. Steve Weber will officiate. There will be no visitation. Cremation has been accorded by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
