
PEKIN ~James Glass, 68, of 1308 Fenley Avenue, passed away at 11:59 a.m. Sunday, July 8, 2007 at his home.Born November 8, 1938 in Mapleton to Charles and Elizabeth (King) Glass, he married Karen Sue Bitner in Lewiston on August 31, 1959.
Surviving are his daughters, Joyce Glass of Pekin, Iona (Donald) Bruketta of Canton, and Teresa (Perry) Pennison of Morgan City, Louisiana; one son, Charles R. Glass of Pekin; nine grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; one brother, LaVerne (Bettie) Glass of South Pekin; and one sister, Karen Subaitis of Indian Head Park, IL.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Jimmy, and one sister, Helen Monroe.
Mr. Glass was a truck driver retired from the Teamsters Union.
He was a talented guitarist, and loved NASCAR racing. He and his brother enjoyed traveling to area bluegrass festivals to listen to bluegrass music.
His funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 11, 2007 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel. The Rev. Chuck Umholtz will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m.Tuesday at thefuneral homeat the funeral home. Burial will be in Maple Ridge Cemetery in Mapleton.
