Born April 9, 1960 in Peoria to James W. and Lois (Elston) Barden, he married Debora Cheesman on December 10, 1997 in Rawlins, Wyoming. She survives.
Also surviving two sisters, Kathy (Ted) Kindred of Manito and Lynn (Allan) Simer of Indiana; mother-in-law, Wanda (Dale) Ripper of Manito; father-in-law, Virgil Cheesman of Pottstown; one aunt, Doris Butts of Peoria; one niece; three nephews; four great-nieces and a huge extended family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; several aunts and uncles.
Jim was a small engine repairman, last working at Big R in Washington.
A motorcycle fanatic, Jim loved to tinker, especially with small engines.
Cremation has been accorded by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. There will be no services or visitation.
