Born February 10, 1955, in Pekin to James A. and Reva (Colyer) Kaufman, Scott retired from Caterpillar, Inc. at age 55. He was preceded in death by his parents, whom he loved dearly; his father was his best fishing buddy.
An avid fisherman, Scott was known for his humor and was a devoted fan of Fighting Illini basketball and the Chicago Bears. He was an intellectual who enjoyed online research.
Surviving are his son, Jesse (Jessica) Kaufman; five grandchildren, Yvonne, Connor (Brooke), Colyer, Kylee, and Kaylee; one great-grandchild, Calix; and his sisters, Linda (Al) Behm, Debbie Kaufman (Hollis) Bond, and Karen Brust.
A Memorial Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday April 9,2026 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory, 500 North Fourth Street in Pekin.
A Graveside Service will take place at 2 p.m. Friday, April 10,2026 at Woodrow Cemetery in rural Pekin.
