

He was born March 30, 1959 in Peristeri, Athens, Greece to George and Maria (Vougouka) Logothetis. He was christened Dimitri at birth and became Jimmy in the States.
Surviving are his parents of Pekin; his daughter, Kearstin Logothetis, a sophomore at Pekin and his longtime companion and partner, Bekah Dancey. He is also survived by four brothers, Sid Logothetis of Mississippi, Spiro Logothetis, Gust (Cam) Logothetis, both of Joliet and Steve Logothetis of Michigan. Jim was also proud of helping raise his step-son, Levi Stanberry.
Coming to the United States from Greece at the age of 10, he was a graduate of Joliet Central High School. Jim worked as an industrial painter for 35 years, last working out of Painters District Council 30, and Local 157 of which he was a member.
Jim was an avid pool player, Vegas class when he was on, and he frequently was. He was a member of the American Poolplayers Association. He also enjoyed boating and was a member of the Pekin Boat Club.
Jim was of the Christian faith and had attended services at the Pekin Union Mission.
His funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, November 3, 2012 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Visitation will be from 12:30 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Cremation will be accorded after the funeral.
