Born February 22, 1939 in Peoria to Claude Clifford and Anne Mae (Prosser) McMullin, he married Mildred Jane “Midge” (Gebhart) Cline on November 24, 1967 in Pekin. She died December 9, 2001 in Peoria. He later married Patricia K. (Stovall) Roeder on May 4, 2014 in Pekin. She survives.

McMullin of Pekin and one sister, Sandy (Alton) Kubesh of Olivia, Minnesota and a very large extended family of nephews, nieces and cousins. Jim also leaves the family he gained when he remarried including Pat’s daughters, Renee (Greg) Sharp of Pekin and Rhonda Barksdale of Aurora; her three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother and one sister.
A United States Army veteran, Jim was a member of William Schaefer American Legion Post 44.
Jim worked for CILCO for 13 years, retiring in 1998. He also had worked as a pipefitter with Iron Workers Local 112 for 16 years and had sold insurance. For a short time he also worked for the Secretary of State in Springfield, but his most enjoyable job was as Bailiff at the Court House for the Tazewell County Sheriff’s Department. Jim served five years as Bailiff and 15 years as Chief Bailiff before retiring on July 31, 2017. Another joy of Jim’s was singing in the Pekin Civic Chorus for many years. He had a great voice, had a love for music and just loved being with the group. Jim also applied for a temporary permit to be an ordained minister so he could marry Pat’s grandson, Cory Sharp and his wife, Elizabeth. He was so thrilled to be able to do that for them.
Jim had a heart of gold, was happy go lucky guy and a very loving man who had a gentle way about him that everybody liked. He loved his family and extended family very much and was very partial to his puppies and babies.
Pat and Jim were very fortunate to make several trips to Florida and enjoyed the beach and seeing relatives. He will be missed but never forgotten.
