

Born May 22, 1945 in Peoria County to Burl and Norma (Bateman) Sathoff, she married Carl Diver on July 8, 1961 in Glasford. She later married Donald G. Schultz, Sr. on July 27, 1975 in Pekin. He died November 19, 2006 in Morton. She also was preceded in death by her parents and one son, Jeff Diver and a daughter-in-law, Mary Draeger-Schultz.
Surviving are three daughters, Cathy (Richard) Garrison, Carla (Bill) Hopkins, both of Pekin and Amanda (Ray) Cantley of Clanton, Alabama; one son, George Michael (Kelly) Diver of Denver, CO; two step-daughters, Laurie (John) Hill and Margie (Richard) Wagner, both of Pekin; two step-sons, Les (Julie) Schultz of Pekin and Donald G. Schultz, Jr. of Pekin; thirteen grandchildren; one great-granddaughter and one brother, Gary (Debbie) Sathoff of Pekin.
Janet had worked as a waitress at the Chateau on the Lake in North Pekin and as a catering director for a Sheraton Hotel in Alabama. She also owned and operated Schultzie’s Sweet Things, a family cake decorating business and Hoops and Hoopla.
Janet loved to bake, cross stitch, cook and read. She also loved animals, especially her cats. She will be remembered for her tremendous work ethic and as the glue that held her family together.
She was of the Baptist faith.
Her family will host a celebration of life gathering from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Friday, February 13, 2015 at her home, 1407 North 4th Street in Pekin. Cremation has been accorded by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
