

Born August 15, 1935 in Middletown to Violet Whiteman, she married Herman E. Lumpkin on January 31, 1952 in Holly Springs, Mississippi. He died in July of 1975. She was also preceded in death by one son, Jeff Lumpkin; one brother; and one sister.
Surviving are one daughter, Marlene “Crickett” (Donnie) Passmore of Manito; two sons, Herman (Janice) Lumpkin, Jr. of Quincy, Massachusetts and Michael “Lumpy” Lumpkin of Topeka; nine grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; one brother, Robert (Nancy) Harrison of Mason City; three sisters, Carol (Richard) Lowman of Theodosia, Missouri, Theresa Allen of Greenview, and Diana Cross of Mason City.
Jean loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A NASCAR fan, Jean had named her dog “Tony Stewart”.
A celebration of her life gathering will be held at a later date.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
