Jeanine was born in Delavan on February 4, 1940 to Chesley and Clara (Leesman) Beasley, both of whom preceded her in death. She is survived by her younger sister, Carolyn Cordts. Jeanine married Ray G. Barnes on January 9, 1960, in Dallas, Texas, later married Terence L. Hattermann on January 15, 1976, in Bartonville, and on May 4, 2000, married Captain Frederick P. Myers in Las Vegas. He died on October 18, 2021 in Bellingham, Washington.
She was a devoted mother and will be dearly missed by her children, Rhett (Mary) Barnes, Tyler (Misty) Barnes, Chad (Nancy) Barnes, Darren (Tamra) Barnes, Danielle (Ben Fister) Barnes and Tara (Todd) Crowson. Her legacy continues through 16 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild, all of whom filled her heart with love and pride.
While raising her children and supporting their many sports and activities, Jeanine also built a successful career. She worked at Madison Park Bank, co-owned and operated a collection agency, and later co-owned and operated Terry’s Pizza in Bartonville, a beloved family business now known as Tyroni’s. Later in life, she completed her Associate Degree and retired as office manager for Carpenters Local Union 183 in East Peoria.
Jeanine loved to travel and enjoyed fishing, whether trolling for bass on Lake of the Ozarks or salmon fishing along the Northern West Coast and Canada. In earlier years, she played women’s doubles tennis and remained an avid fan of the sport, rarely missing an opportunity to watch major tournaments each year.
Her faith in Christ was a guiding force throughout her life. No matter where she lived, Jeanine remained active in her church community and was a longtime member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Pekin, where she faithfully served on the Christian Service Committee. Her kindness, servant’s heart, and unwavering devotion to family and faith left a lasting impression on all who knew her.
Above all else, Jeanine’s greatest joy and proudest accomplishment was her family. They will remember her for her strength, resilience, generosity, and the way she made every gathering feel special. Her love created the foundation of a close-knit family whose bonds will continue to honor her memory for generations to come.
Her life will be celebrated with a visitation from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, May 21, 2026 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. The funeral will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 22, 2026 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Pekin, with Rev. Mark Drews, Pastor officiating. Interment will take place at Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin, immediately after the service. An additional visitation will also be held from 9:30 to 10:15 a.m. Friday at her church.
