

PEKIN ~ Jerry Alan Trone, 64, of 16873 Springfield Road, passed away at 6:28 a.m. Wednesday, August 19, 2009 at his home. Born November 17, 1944 in Rushville to Collis and Ruth (Stambaugh) Trone, he married Sharon Conner on September 24, 1969 in Macomb. Surviving are his wife; his mother of Shelton, Connecticut; one son Chad (Julie) Trone of Peoria; one daughter, Angela Trone of Pekin; four grandchildren; two brothers, David (Sharon) Trone of Keokuk, Iowa and Eddie (Gloria) Trone of Folkston, Georgia; and one sister, Linda (Greg) Cerminara of Shelton. He served as a crew chief in the United States Air Force in the Viet Nam war. Jerrry worked for Caterpillar, Inc. for 35 years, retiring in February 2007 as a division manager. Previously he had worked for Stevens Publishing in Astoria as the assistant plant superintendent. He was a member of the Church of Christ in East Peoria, where he served as a deacon. His funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday, August 24, 2009at the Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel. The Rev.Dave Cordrywill officiate. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, August 23, 2009 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery in Pekin.
