Born January 6, 1936 in Pekin to Douglas and Grace (Sill) Hogue, she married Joseph “Joe” A. Vignassi on October 17, 1953 in Pekin. He died April 27, 2021 in Highland Park. She was also preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Don and Dougie Hogue.
Surviving are six children, Sherrill (Larry) Brees of Bloomington, Bradley (Patty) Vignassi of Pekin, Scott (Lisa) Vignassi of Belleville, Terry (Kim) Vignassi of Bourbonnais, Todd (Laura) Vignassi of Springfield and Jodi (Chris) Scott of Buffalo Grove; 13 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren and four brothers, Darold (Marcia) Hogue of Groveland, Bob Hogue of Naperville, Fred Hogue and Steve (Marci) Hogue, both of Pekin.
A loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, Joan loved gardening, sewing, traveling, bird watching and her loving granddog, Bella.
Joan was a lifetime member of First Baptist Church in Pekin, where her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday, March 28, 2022. Pastor Vern Risner and Pastor Brad Martin will officiate. Visitation will be from 10 to 10:45 a.m. Monday morning at the church. Burial will be at Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin.
