John Henry Gollon

Born July 27, 1939 in Peoria to John S. and Bernadine (Graber) Gollon, he married Patricia “Pat” Faye Martin on August 6, 1960 in Glasford. She died July 12, 2024 in Glasford. He was also preceded in death by his parents; one son, Michael Gollon and one sister, Rose Alvey.

Surviving are one son, Jeff (Cheryl) Gollon of East Moline; one daughter, Kelli Geier of Glasford; three grandchildren, Cody (Erin) Geier, Kaitlin (Connor) Hardison and Kyle (Kara) Gollon; five great-grandchildren, Ellie Geier, Auggie Geier, Teddy Geier, Sawyer Gollon and Bennett Gollon and one sister, Louise Elliott of Oswego, New York.

John had worked for 26 years at F.S. Services in Kingston Mines and then the Ag Lab in Peoria for 20 years before retiring in 2004.

He enjoyed hunting, watching TV, doing word search puzzles and watching his grandchildren and great-grandchildren’s sporting events.

John was a member of Glasford Baptist Church.

His funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday, February 21, 2025 at Glasford Baptist Church in Glasford. Pastor Dan Pugh will officiate. Visitation will be from 10 to 10:45 a.m. Friday at the church. Burial will be at Lancaster Cemetery in Glasford.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
