

Born November 9, 1937 in Peoria County to John H. and Mildred (DePue) Heitzman, he married Judy Tucker on June 30, 1962 in Glasford.
Surviving are his wife; 2 sons, Roger Heitzman of Bartonville and Brian (Michelle) Heitzman of Glasford; 1 grandson, Jonathon Heitzman of Ellisville; and 1 brother, Bruce (Linda) Heitzman of Germantown Hills.
Bud was preceded in death by his parents; 1 brother, Donald; and 2 sisters, Doris and Marian.
He worked for Keystone Steel and Wire Company in Bartonville for 15 years, retiring in 2003. Previously, he had worked for over 29 years at Northern Petrol Chemical Company in Mapleton. He retired as head shipping clerk.
Bud had been a volunteer fireman with the Timber-Hollis Fire Department for 10 years and had also coached Little League baseball for about 10 years.
An avid NASCAR fan, he also enjoyed gardening, yard work, fishing, boating, and camping.
Bud’s funeral will be at 10 a.m., Saturday, January 31, 2009 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin chapel. Pastor James Reed will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m., Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Maple Ridge Cemetery in rural Mapleton. Military graveside honors will be provided by the Glasford American Legion and the U.S. Army.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Timber-Hollis Fire Department.
