John Edward Pyatt Sr.

He was born on March 10, 1934 in Boss, Missouri, a son of Orville L. and Hattie M. (Asher) Pyatt. John married Sharon D. Watson on February 27, 1953 in Pekin. She preceded him in death on January 10, 2023.

John was also preceded in death by his parents and four brothers; Arthur, Corbie, Larry and Donald.

He is survived by his daughter; Sandra Lynn (Ed) Buck of Pekin; his son; John Edward (Alice) Pyatt Jr of Lawton, Oklahoma; four grandchildren; Melanie Wood of Pekin, Lindsey Woolever of Pekin, Kevin Pyatt of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Zackary Buck of Pekin and two great-grandchildren; Olivia Buck and Rylan Woolever.

John proudly served his country in the U.S. Army as a mechanic. He later worked for Caterpillar as a Semi Driver for 40 years and 3 months retiring on December 1, 1991. John was a member of the UAW Local # 974.

His funeral will be held on Friday September 19, 2025 at 3 p.m. at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Pastor Chuck Grogan will officiate. Visitation will be two hours prior to funeral at the funeral home. Cremation will follow.
