

He was born on January 8, 1921 in Fox, Arkansas to Joseph and Effie (Branscum) Ackerman. He married Loyce Morris on August 3, 1946 in Mountain View, AR. He was preceded in death by his parents, one infant son, two brothers and one daughter, Jackie Stoecker.
Surviving is his wife, Loyce of Pekin, two daughters, Shelbie (Rick) Linton of Van Alstyne, TX and Kathy Hagerdorn of Tremont, four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Also surviving are three brothers, Lona Ackerman, James Ackerman and John Ackerman, two sisters, Faye Hawkins and Ola Mae Cercoply, and several nieces and nephews.
Jack served in the U.S. Army Air Corp during World War II and then later with the U.S. Air Force before being honorably discharged in 1951. He worked for Corn Products Company for 30 years before retiring. He was a member of the Pekin Bible Church in Pekin.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, November 22, 2010 at 11:00 am, with visitation one hour prior to the service at Woolsey Funeral Home in Pekin. Pastor Chuck Tate will officiate. Burial will follow the service at Glendale Memorial Garden in Pekin.
