
Born January 10, 1949 in Decatur to Bruno and Joan (Biard) Ossowski, he married Jacqueline Dane in 1985 in Pekin.
Surviving are two sons, Michael Ossowski of San Diego, California and Justin Dane of Pekin; and one granddaughter, Rebeckah McClure of Concrete, Washington. He was also loved and will be missed by several nieces, nephews, and brothers and sisters-in-laws.
His parents preceded him in death.
A United States Army veteran of the Vietnam War, he was the recipient of the Purple Heart and Bronze Star.
Joe was a truck driver and auto body mechanic at various places throughout his life.
Joe enjoyed working on and restoring cars. He had drag raced when he was younger.
His visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin. Military rites will be provided by the United States Army and the Tazewell Area Ceremonial Team.
