Josh battled with his mental health and addiction. His family wants to shed light on the reality of these struggles and encourage others to have empathy for those facing the challenges of recovery.
Josh loved the outdoors. He played many sports growing up, enjoyed hiking, fishing, camping and music festivals. He had an affinity for finding four leaf clovers in a patch anywhere he went. Going to the campground to spend time with his children was a bright spot in his life. His pets, Maui the cat and Casey the dog, along with guinea pigs, also brought his joy.
His family remembers Josh as a selfless person. He was soft-hearted and always positive, never dwelling on the negatives of life.
Josh’s funeral will be at 6 p.m. Monday, February 2, 2026, at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Rev. Fr. George Pyle will officiate. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. at the funeral home. Cremation has been accorded by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory.
