Justin M Moffitt

He was born September 17, 1978 in Pekin to John Kent and Barbara N. (Roberts) Moffitt.

Surviving are his mother of Pekin; two sons, Wesley Alexander Moffitt and Marshal Layne Moffitt, both of Pekin; one sister, Megan (Shane) Johnson of Groveland; one niece, Addison Johnson of Groveland; one nephew, Noah Johnson of Groveland; his aunts and uncles, Tom (Jean) Moffitt of Marysville, OH, Pat (Bob) Springman of Pekin, Charlotte (Tom) Rausch of Hamburg, PA and Marsha Roberts of Marquette Heights. He also leaves many cousins, Curt (Cathy) Moffitt of Springfield, Ryan (Kelly) Moffitt, Spencer Moffitt, both of Ohio, Aimee (David) Sarchet, Scott Roberts, both of Pekin, Andrew (Melinda) Springman of Nashville, TN, Susan Springman of Washington, Sheri (Matt) Hoffert, Stephen (Amber) Rausch, both of Pennsylvania, Melanie (Brad) Curry of Plainfield and Stacie (David) Moeller of Normal and many great nieces and nephews. He also leaves Elizabeth Cecil, who was the love of his life.

He was preceded in death by his father; his grandparents and his uncle, Glenn Roberts.

Justin served in the United States Navy from 2003 to 2009 as a corpsman aboard the USS Detroit. He was a Registered Nurse and a 2012 graduate of Illinois Central College’s Nursing Program. He last worked for Helping Hands Home Health of East Peoria.

He was an avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and the Chicago Bears.

Justin always was of good humor and had a way of putting people and various situations at ease.

He was of the Baptist faith.

His funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, December 17, 2016 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Pastor Brad Martin will officiate. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery in Pekin, with military rites accorded by the United States Navy and the Tazewell Military Rites Team.
