Karl Edward Cooper, 78, of Pekin, passed away on Friday, September 5, 2025 at his home. He was born on July 6, 1947 in Clinton, Iowa, a son of Charles W. and Luella B. (Zweihbormer) Cooper. Karl married Celestia F. Seelye on May 5, 1992 in Pekin. She preceded him in death on January 11, 2020 in Peoria.
He was also preceded in death by his parents.
Karl is survived by his two step-sons, Derek D. Kleckner and Aaron M. Kleckner, both of Pekin; two step-daughters, Celena Sisk and Nellie Hall both of Pekin; one brother, Joseph Cooper of Minneapolis, Minnesota; and six step-grandchildren.
He served his country in the United States Army and the United States Air National Guard, retiring as a master sergeant in 2012.
Karl last worked for RMH Foods in Morton as a forklift operator, retiring in 2015.
He served as a scout leader for Boy Scouts Troop 187 in Pekin for many years. Karl loved woodworking, but especially enjoyed spending time with family.
There will be no service. Cremation has been entrusted to Preston-Hanley Funeral Home and Crematory in Pekin.
